The car repair bodyshop that comes to you! It couldn’t be more simple, our service is convenient, professional & cost effective!

We specialise in providing a mobile service repairing minor damage to vehicles. Paint repairs such as bumper scuffs, alloy wheels and bodywork can be carried out on your doorstep – at your convenience. We can bring our mobile body shop to you, at home or work, at a time to suit you. Jobs that can’t be completed on site can be brought back to our workshop in Lisburn. If needs be, our comprehensive insurance covers us to drive your vehicle on the road, while it’s in our care.

We service all of the greater Belfast area, and are regularly working in Bangor, Downpatrick, Banbridge, Lisburn, Portadown, Dungannon, Antrim, Ballymena, and Larne; so give us a call, even if you’re outside these towns.

When you contact us we will usually try to get a technician to call with you to get a look at the job. This service is offered free of charge and you are under no obligation to proceed with a repair if you don’t wish to. It allows us a chance to accurately assess the damage, answer any questions you may have and talk you through the options that are available to you, along with prices. If you wish to proceed, we will then book you into our diary.

Insurance Excess

While costs of repairs vary, we are keen on price, and it often makes better sense in the long run, to pay for the repair work rather than involve your insurance company and affect your “No Claims” or future premiums. So if you’ve had an irritating bump and thought the only options open to you were a poor quality DIY touch-up job or an expensive and inconvenient trip to a body shop, it would be wise to give Colortec a call first.

We work to the highest standards and are happy to guarantee that you will be completely satisfied with our work.

At Colortec we pride ourselves on outstanding customer service.

We are the solution to your problem – we will talk you through the repair before we start the job and deliver on your expectations.

We can help you with:

Whether caused by a vandal with a key, a youngster with a bike or one of those irritating ones that simply appeared one day, we are here to help.

Whether the damaged area needs paintwork or if it simply needs polished out using professional abrasive polishes and compounds; we are able to repair scratch damage to your car.

Our technicians work out of specially adapted vans using the most advanced and innovative products to produce a quality repair at a fraction of the price of a mainline body shop.

Typical damage on any car is a scuff on the bumper corner or a clipped door mirror. Often in these cases the paint has been rubbed off revealing the plastic underneath, but even heavier damage can often be returned to its original condition.

We even have the ability to refinish grey or black textured plastic parts, which are not painted to match the body colour, such as some bumpers and trims.

Do not despair!
Splits in plastic bumpers can often be repaired either by plastic welding, patching from the back or a combination of the two. Also at Colortec we have a “State of the art” Hot Staple system we brought in from one of our German partner companies. This system allows us to bridge the split with wire staples that are melted into the plastic of the bumper. This creates a very strong, durable and lasting repair.

With replacement plastic bumpers costing anything from £300 to £900 it makes good financial sense to repair rather than replace when looking for a cost effective solution. Bearing in mind that once you’ve bought a replacement bumper it still needs to be painted and then fitted.

Kerbed, damaged and tired looking alloys can be repaired and refurbished to make them look like new wheels again. We can even change the colour, which is a cost effective way to transform the whole look of your car. If you have a set of original manufacturers wheels (whether they are Vauxhall, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, or whatever), do not underestimate the superior quality of those Original Equipment (OE) wheels compared to a budget or cheep replica wheel.

Prices start at £50 + VAT per wheel but depend on:

• Wheel size and complexity of the wheel design
• If the wheel needs blasted or striped (usually due to corrosion)
• If you require the inside of the wheel painted or just the face
• Number of colours or if the wheel has a Polished or Machined finish

Straightening Wheels:

A flat spot caused by striking a pothole can cause the wheel to feel out of balance or even to leak air. We can press the wheel back into shape using the specialist machine we have back at our Lisburn workshop.

General wear and tear on painted interior trim panels such as around the centre console, by the hand break, around the dashboard or on the doors, can be repaired and repainted, turning the clock back on the look and condition of the interior of your car.

Holes left in plastic trims after the removal of a mounting for Sat Nav or mobile phone equipment can be filled and then that panel repaired with a textured finish to replicate the look of those parts.

For some more radical ways of refinishing the interior trim of your car think about introducing some colour or look at our Flocking and Water Transfer Printing / Hydro-Graphcs services.

Tired and worn leather seats can be treated with our state of the art water based dyes that not only re-colour, they also feed the leather.

We use a market leading product from a supplier in the UK who works not only with the motor trade but with all the major UK sofa manufactures as well as retail companies dealing in all manner of high quality leather goods. So, if you know of an expensive leather handbag that’s been scuffed or marked, a leather sofa, or any other leather product, we would certainly be happy to see if we can help you.

Minor Damage & Paintwork

Little incidents can be very annoying and often affect how you feel about your vehicle. Don’t panic – on most occasions we are able to restore the damaged area to its former glory.

You’ll be surprised how little this costs, when compared to traditional body shops, and how convenient our service really is.

We are an established SMART repair business that has been delivering a high quality service to the motor trade in the Greater Belfast Area for over a decade now. During that period we have grown into a multi-van operation, now having a fleet of specialist repair vehicles servicing our customers’ needs, as well as a workshop in Lisburn.

We are a progressive company who work very closely with our suppliers and partners, looking at new products and systems, so we can remain at the cutting edge and continue to deliver the highest level of service to our customers. In recent years we have added several specialist coating applications to our product portfolio.

Spray-wrap is an inexpensive and reversible way to radically change the appearance of your car. At Colortec we did a lot of homework before getting involved in spray-wrapping and we elected to go with the American product Plastidip, which is the best known and the one that all other spray-wraps are compared to.

Whether you’re looking to wrap your whole car, to transform it’s look completely
Or if you simply want to add your own unique look by wrapping just the roof, bonnet, grills, mirror backs, etc with a feature colour to personalise your car.
We Can Help
Alternatively you could opt for a clear wrap to protect your paintwork from stone chips, wear and tear or accessories like a cycle rack.

The process
Once the parts to be spray-wrapped have been prepared the product is sprayed on in its liquid form and the coats built up. Once dry, the product takes on the properties of a thin rubberised membrane that is firmly attached to the body of the vehicle. When cured this membrane coating is not going anywhere unless it’s physically peeled off.

It’s very robust and durable, and can easily withstand everyday wear and tear, but if you get bored with it, you can simply peal it off. The original paintwork is still underneath undamaged and actually will have been protected by the Plastidip while it was on your car.

There are a range of colours and effects available including “Clear”, which can be used purely as a protective coating for your paintwork. With new colours being added to the range all the time.

Looking for a smart professional finish to dashboards, door cards, or custom fit panels, such as a heavy duty parcel shelf capable of securely supporting and upgraded sound system?

Flocking could be the answer. Flocking is the electrostatic process of bonding millions of tiny fibres to a surface so they form a tightly knitted carpet. Rally drivers have flocked their dash boards in matt black for years to reduce glare, but many people look to flocking purely for aesthetic reasons.

Available in a huge range of colours please look in the gallery for some sample photos that will inspire and inform.

Ever wondered how they made those plastic inserts in cars look like walnut?

This is the practice of using the surface tension properties of water to evenly print onto a three dimensional object. The pattern or effect to be printed is on a thin film that is laid onto the water surface. When sprayed with an activator the film starts to dissolve leaving the print on the surface of the water. The item to be coated is then gently dipped through the surface and the print, which wraps evenly around the item; is pressed home by the pressure from the water. Once totally submerged all remnants of the film are washed off and the newly printed item is removed and rinsed. After drying, the print is protected by a coat of lacquer to ensure the finish is durable.

Effects available include various “Carbon Fibre” patterns, wood effects such as “Walnut”, both hunting and military “Camouflage”, animal prints including “Snake Skin”

With new films coming onto the market all the time you will have no trouble finding one to fit the look you want. Items that can be wrapped include trims, mirror backs, switchgear, interior components, wheels etc.

Please look at the Gallery for more ideas and inspiration.

Nothing looks worse than a botched attempt to remove a manufactures badge. For bonded badges we offer a quick and painless service to remove these so your precious paintwork will remain intact and unmarked.

Large badges may have prongs that locate into holes in the panels. Please call us to discuss what we can do to De-badge these for you.

Personalise your car and really make it your own by introducing a “Signature” colour.
Mirror backs, grills and trims – it’s up to you how much or how little, how subtle or how radical.

We can mix custom colours and finishes to enhance your pride and joy. And at Colortec, if we do we will even keep a note of the exact formula, should you ever need to come back for any minor repairs.
